While we have state-of-the-art equipment, our real value is found with the dedicated staff and experienced physicians at our facility. Our team includes two interventional radiologists, two registered nurses, two interventional technologists and three patient care coordinators.
The essential skills of an interventional radiologist are in diagnostic image interpretation and the manipulation of needles and the use of fine catheters and wires to navigate around the body under imaging control.
Meet Our Radiologists
Dr. Santiago Marroquin
Dr. Santiago Marroquin graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. After graduating, he completed his internship at Texas Tech University Health Science Center at El Paso. He received surgical training during this tenure. Dr. Marroquin returned to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he spent five more years completing a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology.
During his academic career, Dr. Marroquin served as a chief resident for two years, co-authored several papers in interventional radiology and served on the faculty as an assistant professor.
In 2005, Dr. Marroquin, his wife, Erin, and their three boys moved to Victoria, Texas and joined Crossroads Diagnostic Imaging Associates. He has worked as the Chief of Interventional Radiology since that time and continues to provide his services for Victoria and its surrounding communities.
After more than 11 years of practicing interventional radiology, Dr. Santiago Marroquin has gained extensive experience in vascular access, biopsy procedures, oncological interventions, and combined therapies for non-surgical malignancies and emergencies.
Dr. J. Ryan Mikus
After completing undergraduate and graduate degrees at Texas A&M University, Dr. J. Ryan Mikus completed his medical school training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. After graduating, he completed medical internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Dr. Mikus then returned to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he spent the next five years completing residency in diagnostic radiology and fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology.
During his academic career, Dr. Mikus presented at multiple national academic meetings, co-authored several publications in interventional radiology, and served on the faculty as an assistant professor in neuroradiology.
Through training in vascular and interventional radiology, Dr. Mikus has acquired depth and breadth of knowledge in interventional oncology, vascular access, vascular intervention, diagnostic procedures, and non-vascular minimally invasive procedures.
In 2015, Dr. Mikus, his wife, Leslie, and their four children moved to Victoria, Texas where he joined Crossroads Diagnostic Imaging Associates. He looks forward to providing superb diagnostic imaging and cutting-edge minimally invasive procedures to the community in and around Victoria for many years.
